Now that you’ve eaten your weight in turkey and cranberry sauce, watched 12 hours of football (commercials included) ate a little more turkey and hey, what’s one more piece of pie, right? Then settle in by having an Alka-Seltzer as a final nightcap and when you rise in the morning we’re right back with hoops now that it’s NBA Friday. See how easy that worked out? Now let’s get to those winning picks.

Here’s some of the players I’ll add to my Draft$treet roster for Friday night’s $300 NBA Freeroll

Jameer Nelson PG Orlando Magic ($11,600): I believe that Jameer Nelson will have his best game (fantasy point production-wise) of the season to date. He is just over that flu-bug that seems to be traveling around the NBA. His time on the floor is still plentiful, logging in his 30-plus minute a game average which falls right into place for tonight’s game versus Cleveland. I’m sure Jameer will see more than his average as far as minutes go. Nelson has a great history against the Cavaliers and you need to make sure you’re taking advantage of that. Nelson’s stat line in his most recent start against Cleveland almost assures you of a great night of production. In the last two games versus the Cavs, Nelson is averaging 15.5 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds and that is only averaging 28 minutes on the floor, watch what that extra 4-5 minutes on the floor bring this average to. Nelson is a high value play here and you should make it a point to start him; huge upside here for the price.

Projection: 16 pts / 10 ast / 6 reb / 2 stl

Austin Rivers SG New Orleans Hornets ($7,484): Austin had an injury scare last week but it looks like everything has held up fine and that’s good because we don’t want any roster bunnies with bad wheels. Rivers is another one of those players who is good and people are aware of that but it’s usually overshadowed by the big name beasts going that particular night. Rivers is in such a great position in this game tonight. He couldn’t be matched-up better versus a better team and at the best time. I have been waiting for two things concerning Rivers. First, when will this kid break out? No, I mean really break out. Then there’s the second thing. What team will present him the opportunity to do so? Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the Phoenix Suns who own the league’s second worst defense giving up 102.8 points a game. Second only to the Trail Blazers who give up 102.9. One tenth of a point difference from last huh? Yep this is the team. I’m looking for Austin to have a great offensive producing night. Rivers style!!! Twenty points? Eh, close.

Projection: 18 pts / 3 assists / 7 rebounds / 1 blk / 3 stl

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist SF Charlotte Bobcats ($10,837): Wait a minute. Only one double-double so far this year? Yes sir only one and number two will be here in a few hours. I’m going with Michael in this spot, he’s coming off 3 good nights of point production but he’ll turn the corner here being well rested to grab his second double-double of the year; he’s flirted with it in his five games prior. He gets it here against Atlanta. When any rookie, as good as Kidd-Gilchrist performs, is rested, you take him.

Projection: 15 pts / 4 ast / 12 reb / 3 blk / 3 stl

Patrick Patterson PF Houston Rockets ($8,620): I can’t get enough of this kid! I mean as long as his price stays or hovers where it’s at and he keeps playing like he has been, brother I’ll take him all day long. Once again, if you have not been playing daily fantasy basketball long then he’s probably the best player that you’ve never heard of. I have been riding him for a week straight and he has not disappointed. Not once! In his last four games he has performed the following in the department of points scored: 15, 14, 19 & 20 and that’s only points. His price on all of the sites scream for you to take him. I’m in Connecticut and I can hear them from here; screaming loud too! Patrick is logging in 30-plus minutes and this kid is the real deal. Watch him play, as he’s no flash-in-the-pan that is for sure. I’m looking for Patterson to get his first, that’s right first, double-double of the season. He’ll get it too. Watch and see my friend, watch and see!

Projection: 15 pts / 2 ast / 11 reb / 1 blk / 1 stl

Marcin Gortat C Phoenix Suns ($13,803): Looking forward to facing certain teams has to be on these guys minds at all times, no matter what they or the coaches tell you. For instance, Marcin has a very good stat line in recent games versus the Hornets. In his last four starts against New Orleans, the big man’s averaging 15-plus points per outing. Gortat is coming off a of a nice 22 point effort on Wednesday against the Trail Blazers having logged in 30 minutes. Look for more of the same because as long as he’s logging in 24 minutes (which he will here) he’ll get an easy double-double. Marcin gets stronger as the game goes deeper, that’s just how he rolls.

Projection: 21 pts / 2 ast / 11 reb / 1 blk / 2 stl

I have been involved in the fantasy sports world for 35 years now (1977) and have no desire to retire from it anytime soon - Many of my opponents just cringed at that last sentence! After I had won some of the more prestigious tournaments (FFBC took 1st place 4 of 6 years in NBA and the AAFST in which I was in the top five for 7 straight years taking 1st place twice in NFL and also placed 1st in MLB) in the 1970's and early 1980's I knew I was hooked. I play every day and am a ranked player on one of the major daily fantasy sites. I am very proud and privileged to call DFSN my home, the premier site for all fantasy players. Remember to follow me on Twitter for last minute player personnel changes as well as weather up-dates. As scary as that thought is however, it’ll allow me to help you get to the cashier's window with regularity. Gimme a follow on Twitter CrazyHorse_DFSN
